Mark James's 73 429 Convertible

These are photo's of my 1973 Mustang convertible. It was built in early March of 1973 and delivered on 3/30/73 to Powell Motor Company, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.  Original options included on the invoice are Select shift Cruise-O-Matic, Power steering, E70 wide oval belted WSW, console, A/C, AM radio, color keyed racing mirrors, decor group, tinted glass and rear bumper guards. The list price was $4303.32...."A" plan was $3682.77, which included 10 gallons of gas at .25 cents a gallon!

The car was brought to Michigan and purchased by myself in the spring of 1980. That summer I and two friends stripped, gutted and repainted the car its original Wimbledon White. Since then I've added the Ram Air hood, 15 inch Magnum 500 rims, and  replaced the tired 302CID with a 429. The engine and trans both were rebuilt relatively close to stock with the only additions (at this time) being
polished valve covers, a Holley 750 carburetor, Eldebrock Performer manifold and Hooker headers.
